Our Mission

Life Together

At College Church, we understood our mission as the mission Jesus gave to His disciples in Matthew 28:19-20. Jesus said,

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

We strive to be a disciple-making church. The strategy to accomplish this mission comes from the early church in Acts 2:42.

The strategy to accomplish this mission came from the description of the early church's strategy, reported in Acts 2:42. Luke wrote, "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Their strategy became our strategy.

We devote ourselves to reverential and meaningful worship and understand the significance of both baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which we receive each Sunday. We devote ourselves to prayer. The call to prayer is commonly heard at College Church. Prayer is an integral part of the worship service and we call people to pray together throughout the week.

We devote ourselves to the apostles’ teaching, which is, in other words, scripture. Our devotion to scripture is evident in the worship services and also evident in our encouragement for all to participate in Bible studies, both in Sunday School and during the week in small group Bible studies.

We devote ourselves to fellowship. We believe church is not an event, but a community. We love our church and we love the people who make up College Church.

We devote ourselves to loving, caring, and serving others just as Jesus Christ did for us. The church does not exist in a vacuum. We are called to love and care for our neighbors, near and far.
