Marriage

College Church celebrates the creation of a new family.  In a time when the pressures of life assault homes, we seek to help engaged couples prepare for a lifetime commitment to one another.  When a couple gets engaged, they may contact the pastor's office to enroll in a pre-marriage program called MAC--Mentor a Couple.  Trained couples in the church volunteer their time to meet one-on-one with engaged couples for conversation and support.  A secretary administers a Pre-marriage Inventory Questionnaire, and sends this private document to a professional reviewer.  The results enable the mentor couple to guide the relationship.  Those who have gone through this program testify to its value.  The pastors of College Church are glad to perform the wedding ceremony of any couple that has gone through the MAC program or any other accepted pre-marriage counseling program.  We feel responsible to do everything possible to help marriages begin well.  We strongly encourage married couples to become involved in a Sunday evening class or small group.  Mutual Christian friendships are valuable for the longevity of the home.
